Every day in the run up to Christmas I’m going to post a symptom or side effect of fibromyalgia – at the risk of sounding too twee for words, it’s the blog equivalent of opening the door on your advent calendar. Instead of a chocolate snowman you get a little window into what it’s like to have fibro.
December 3rd: Nausea
This might be a short one because, well…what do you say about nausea? Nobody wants it, nobody likes it and I only seem to experience it when I’m hitting the wall in terms of fatigue, at the point where I can no longer function and need to lie down and immediately become unconscious for a while. Remember when I said in the post about fatigue that it feels like my organs have given up the ghost? I’m almost certain the nausea is a result of my digestive system making the Windows XP shutdown noise and giving up the ghost.

Fibromyalgia can also present with IBS symptoms, which can cause bloating and nausea along with the more traditional…bowel related symptoms. There’s dizziness and lack of spatial awareness, which will mess up your inner ear and make you feel queasy. A supremely irritating little side effect of fibro.
